Causing A Scentsation: Armani Strikes My Purse Strings…

Oh dear, I was back at it for the first time in a couple months.

SHOPPING!!!!!

Yay! I have missed it so much and have been trying to keep a little shopping list of all the things I want but it’s been hard. I forget because I’m not writing anything down.

I knew I really wanted to replace a bottle of Viktor & Rolf’s “Flowerbomb”, which MOH got me a while back and I used constantly ’til it was dry inside but I got sidetracked when I hit the department store after work was done. I found myself gravitating towards the Agent Provocateur range even though I’d been there, done that. Then I just aimlessly walked the aisles ’til a saleslady called out to me, “yoohoo”…

I was shown to the Armani range, of which MOH and I both own a fragrance or two- me- Diamonds, he- Acqua Di Gio.

There is range I have never seen before from Armani called “ONDE”.

There are 3 perfumes that showcase parts of the world and scents of the world. There’s Mystere- a scent inspired by the Middle East and it’s a musky oriental. I have to admit it wasn’t my favourite as it was too soft, not enough punchiness to it. I felt like it wouldn’t do me any good. I’m a strong character and I need a strong scent to accentuate me. Then there was Vertige- a scent inspired by the florals of India. That one was lovely but too familiar. I love my patchouli scents and this one was packed to the brim with it. And rounding out the three was Extase- a woody oriental based on the art of the geishas of Japan. MOH and I are a little bit in love with Japan and it was a green bottle, which used to be my favourite colour so I chose that one.

Then I got a bit perfume nuts and wanted a second perfume. Usually I do this- buy an expensive perfume and then a cheaper one to round out the transaction. I just don’t like leaving the store without purchasing two perfumes. Yes, I know I’m a weirdo. I didn’t get very far. I zeroed in on another Armani scent- Code!

Damn, it’s so beautiful, I cannot believe I didn’t buy this earlier! I almost jumped outta my skin when I smelt how good it was. My Code was in a different bottle then the regular cylindrical (with a skirting) as this is the refillable 50ml version so when I run out, I only need to buy the refills instead of a whole new bottle.

This is my 2nd refillable perfume as I already own a Chanel No.5 refillable spray. I think they are much more economical and better for the environment- you spend less on refills when comparing it to buying whole new bottles and you don’t have to throw away a bottle each time you finish.

Anyway, to top it all off, the saleslady gave me some samples for MOH and a huge Ralph Lauren umbrella for me, which was great ‘cos in this particular store I shopped at, they never give you samples. I have shopped there since 2004 and never once was I given any samples. But the umbrella makes up for it ‘cos it is HUGE and I have always wanted one since I was little.

Oh, before I forget, I got a new handbag too. Woohoo!!! I have been umming and aahing over buying one and finding the perfect handbag that can fit all my life into it. The one I chose just might fit the bill…
