Shiny New Things: Tiny Shopping Hauls

While on Annual Leave this fortnight, I have indulged in a few things I normally don’t when working everyday- wine in the middle of the day, chocolate, making new pieces for my jewellery collection (last time I made jewellery was for my team’s Xmas gifts), watching tacky and funny youtube clips and listening to my extensive iTunes library in shuffle very loudly.

I decided to get out of the house the other day and do a tiny bit of grocery shopping but found myself buying random things for myself too.

The haul as follows:

the Priceline haul

Priceline- I am nuts about beautiful scents especially in body washes and that Lux brand is fantastic. The light pink and maroon one are for me as they go with my bathroom decor, hehe (read: it’s Pink themed.) I got face and feet fixer-uppers because I haven’t looked after my skin so well in the past few months (read: Xmas, Sales, neverending!) and my feet are starting to get very sore from the shoes I wear. I will have to partake of those soon. The tips are for my upcoming attempt at a pedicure. I won’t show the results but I can only imagine well (read: disastrous) that will turn out, hehe. Usually, I buy an effload more from Priceline but since January, I have already spent up a grand on health and beauty products there.

sidebar: Priceline in OZ is like Boots for the UK and a Sephora/mini drugstore for the US.

the Target haul

Target- I didn’t really want to buy anything from Target but I found the markdown jewellery stand and thought it would be perfect to pull apart and use for my own designs. The one on the left is a basic dark silver belcher chain with black charms attached by jump rings, the middle is a thicker gold chain with assorted gold and pale pink charms with a matching ribbon running through the chain and the 3rd is a snake chain with the tubed charm on it. I don’t think I’ll pull that apart and may use as is. They were all 2 bucks so, what a steal! There were plenty of other items but half were broken or missing something, and even at 2 dollars, i don’t want to take home anything that’s broken. (I also bought a top but I’d already put it away before I took this pic.)

the Riot haul

Riot- normally, as a craft store, I give Riot a big thumbs down. The bead range is tiny in respect to other smaller craft stores and that irritates me as you’re still expected to pay top dollar for findings. They have close to no chain, no dark silver/nickel plated findings, no super cute beading brands and the range they do have is the same stuff they’ve been peddling for almost a decade. On this trip, however, I was inspired by a necklace I made the day before and decided I would do a few more based on the same design using the beads as shown above. Those beads, were all on sale at 1.99 so I was okay with investing so little. Geez, I can be so cheapskate.

I’ll try to post the pics of my new pieces soon, including those I’ve made with the shopping trip’s haul :)

I don’t know why I don’t do shopping haul posts more often. MOH does them on his gaming forum all the time and it’s so cool to see what other peops buy (well, for us two because we like buying stuff.)
